Make: Standard Havens
Model: Alpha Mark V, size 27
This 1990’s era Standard Havens baghouse is an Alpha Mark V size 27. There are 27 rows of bags, 16 bags in a row and the bags are 15’ long. 5.5”x 15’ long. There is a nominal 9,325 square feet of cloth that will effectively filter 51,287 @ 5.5 cfm of dust laden air. NOTE: 6”x 15’ long. There would be 10,173 square feet of cloth
The entire baghouse was built of 3/16” bent plate including the tube sheet. This made for a very rigid and long lasting construction. All bags are accessible from the top of the unit. Also, this baghouse has a very large volume so that the dust can enter the house and slow down and fall from the airstream without the bags doing all the work. There is a walkway on the side of the house for accessing the double-diaphragm Goyen valves.
The outlet duct with the fan, 150 hp premium efficiency motor, damper and stack are included. The opposed blade damper is missing the actuator. There is no air compressor, however, there is a very large air holding tank piped to the unit.
The hopper section of the baghouse is skid mounted for ease of moving and reassembly. A 12” diameter screw is in the bottom of the hopper and a 5 hp motor drives it. A heavy-duty mesh screen covers the augur. There is a large access door to the hopper section.
NOTE: This baghouse appears to be in good condition. However, it needs a coat of paint desperately.
Standard Havens set the standard for baghouses in the asphalt industry. The wide row spacing and wide bag spacing coupled with a large box volume insured good long-term performance.
